ALS Ice Bucket Challenge Progress

Thank You From Care Services

Our Care Services Staff would like to thank those who so graciously donated no longer needed durable medical equipment to the Chapter Equipment Loan Program. This program provides needed equipment such as manual and power wheelchairs, tilting shower chairs, patient lifts and portable ramps to those who do not have access to a source of funding for these items.  The Chapter has even loaned computerized communication devices to those who otherwise may have remained silent.  The availability of this equipment has allowed many patients to enjoy the companionship of  family and friends in the comfort of their own home as their journey with ALS continues.

Although the Chapter is pleased to report an average 90 – 95% fulfillment rate for equipment requests, we continue to strive to meet everyone’s needs.  If you have durable medical equipment you are no longer using, please consider its potential value to another family living with ALS.  Our Chapter staff is always available to discuss the unmet needs of our ALS families, and assist with arrangements to facilitate equipment donations.  If you or someone you know is in need of equipment, please do not hesitate to contact your local Care Services Coordinator and request assistance.
