Thank you for donating to team 'FREE BIRD'!! Bert Damon was one in a million. His quick wit, sweet charm & incredible generosity made him someone everyone wanted to know. Bert's battle with ALS was short and fierce. He soldiered on through the diagnosis and grew closer with his family than every before. During his time with ALS, he was also diagnosed with throat cancer. The ALS had progressed and weakened him too much to operate. The combination of the two illnesses ultimately took him from his loved ones just 9 months after learning of his ALS diagnosis. This year, we walk in memory of Bert, we walk in memory of all of those who battled ALS & we walk in honor of those currently living with ALS. Our dream is to see reliable and new medical research that leads us to a better treatment plan and ultimately the CURE to ALS!
